Is there any type of birth control you would recommend for a female who regularly goes 2+ months without having sex (long distance relationship)? The obvious is condoms but I really dislike using them, I'm on the pill which works really well for me but it's kind of annoying to take it every day when I know I'm not going to be having sex. Is there any other alternative?

There are a lot of alternatives for you! If you are looking for something with less hassle, I would recommend a long-term birth control option that does not require you to take pills, put on a patch, or insert a ring at all. Both options I will discuss are put in a place by your doctor and then will last years.

One great option is the IUD. This option is great because it last between 5-10 years and is 99% effective. There is also no way for user error since there is nothing for the user to do except go see the doctor and check the strings every now and then. It is completely reversible and can be taken out at anytime. There are two types of IUDs one hormonal.

Another great option is Implanon, which is a small rod inserted into the arm. It is 99% and is a great long-term option without the hassle. It can be taken out at any time and is completely reversible.

Neither of these two methods can protect you against STIs, so make sure that if you are having sex with someone make sure you and your partner have been tested or use a condom.
