For those of you who do not know what an IUD (hormonal/Mirena) is, it is a t-shaped device that is put into your uterus by a doctor. It helps to prevent pregnancy for up to 5 years, and is one of the most effective contraceptive methods on the market. However, it does not protect against STIs and can be expensive.
