kahtiihma submitted: Rope can be a wonderful addition to bedroom play, especially if the participants are curious about bondage but want to try something a little more Eastern-Style. Any home improvement store has length of soft, nylon blend rope for sale at super cheap. I suggest finding a soft, strong braided cord that makes knots that do not slip.
Practice knots first so you don’t create a knot that will tighten during play because bloodflow should not be cut off. When rope is finally incorporated into play, be sure to have a pair of scissors on hand just in case. I suggest bandage scissors for first aid kits, they have a rounded tip that won’t accidentally cut your partner and can be found in any drug store. With any type of play, be sure to have safe words and full communication present about what your partner enjoys and does not enjoy.
If at any time during a rope session the person being tied experiences tingles or loss of sensation in any part of their body, they must speak up and the ropes must be untied or cut. Serious damage can happen if blood flow is cut off for extended periods of time and precautions must be in place to prevent injury.
And then just explore! Tie knees together and open, practice hog ties, buy extra rope to double as under-the-bed restraints if you do not have a headboard. The possibilities are endless! Have fun and be safe.
