Hi, im a sixteen year old who is sexually active. I decided to get the implant in april of this year, and after 3 months of irregular and prolonged periods i got put on the pill to make them calm down. I went through the 1st sheet and then i had to be off for the weekend just past, so i took a weeks extra on the 2nd sheet, then decided i was going to take my break. I last had the pill on sunday and now its monday and i was just curious as to if i should be worried at the minute or not? thanks x

Forgive me if I misunderstood what you were saying, but I really think you should look through Planned Parenthood’s Birth Control page, specifically the section with instruction on how to take the pill. In order for it to work, you need to take it as the directions state (at the same time everyday, every single day). If you moved on to the next month’s pack to skip your period and take the first weeks, you should continue with the pack until the end of it. Especially if it is a triphasic pill, it won’t be effective if you simply skip a week when its convenient. If you are using an implant to protect from pregnancy, you won’t have to worry about that. However if you are relying on the pill you need to be using back up protection for a couple of weeks and sticking to correct pill usage in order to prevent pregnancy.

Since I am admittedly a little confused about your situation, it may be worth it for you to call your doctor and speak to them about what is going on. You can also email me at becauseiamawoman.tumblr@gmail.com with more information and I will try to give you a better answer. Hope this helps!
