For those of you who aren’t familiar with the program, Feminist Camp is a truly wonderful opportunity for young people to learn about feminism, reproductive justice, and most important to me- working at related non-profit organizations. Since I am about to graduate from grad school and hope to work in a reproductive justice non-profit, this opportunity could quite literally mean the difference between me getting a job and not getting a job in the near future.
I would really appreciate the chance to attend this through the free spot they are offering- but I need your help! It would mean the world to me if you could all go to this link and nominate me for this spot. Since the program costs $1500, I simply cannot afford to pay my way through it right now, and I don’t feel comfortable using my blog for personal fundraising purposes.
What I am asking of all of you is to go to this link and nominate me (Ally Boguhn/ Email: becauseiamawoman.tumblr@gmail.com) for the free spot. You will be asked to respond to a question about how I embody feminism in 50 words or less, and I would absolutely love it if you would write about how my blog has influenced or helped you in your pursuit of feminism, reproductive justice, and/or sexual health.

Hey everyone! I don’t usually do this, but I truly feel that this is an extremely great cause. This year, my Vox Chapter and I are raising money for the Jane Fund, an organization in Massachusetts that helps people who need an abortion and have no money or insurance to be able to afford the procedure.
The Jane Fund really saves and changes lives. As a group, we are hoping to raise enough money to cover one first trimester procedure - $610. However, I am only looking to raise $150 of that. Please help us reach our goal! I have 2,300+ followers and if just one hundred and fifty of you donated $1 to the cause we could make a real difference in the life of someone who needs our help. (If you want to donate less than $15, simply pick the “other” option).
