Are there pigs flying somewhere?
Thanks to Rush Limbaugh’s dangerous rhetoric, he inspired our activists to raise over $50,000 to help protect choice.
So, as a token of her gratitude, Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, wrote a letter thanking Rush.
Take a look at the names of over 1,400 people who made their actions speak louder than his words.
Great fundraiser going on in my hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. I was actually just looking for a shirt with this kind of attitude online last night, but could not find one I liked… this one is perfect. The design looks very cute, simple, powerful, and sleek! I shall be purchasing one. :-) If anyone else has anything like this they’d like me to signal boost, drop me a line and I’ll be more than happy to pass it along as well!

Oh Rachel, I love you for this segment.
This segment was flawless.
The only thing I wish she’d added at the end was the the reason he may be confused is because he thinks birth control pills have to be taken every time you have sex just like the prescription Viagra pills the he continues to be caught with.
The thing about this whole saga is it’s exposed a whole new facet to the argument- these grown ass men talking about contraceptives literally do not know the first damn thing about them. And not just in the how they work on a biological level, their practical uses, alternate benefits etc. THEY LITERALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT A CONTRACEPTIVE PILL IS. I’ll be honest, I never even considered that in 2012, in the most privileged country in the world there could be hyperprivileged men who didn’t know the superbasics of the contraceptive pill, so I’ve never thought to address that, but FUCK ME, apparently our arguments about complex wombproblems and all that really were lost on them, not only because they’re nasty bigots, but because they literally do not have the mutual information base upon which the relative arguments are formed.
SHOCKING.
Oh god. The only thing better than this is when Rachel Maddow schooled Mittens on how birth control works.

The call came a day after conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh demanded that Fluke release tapes of her having sex in exchange for the contraception that she argued should be covered by employers. Fluke was set to go on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports when the president rang her on her phone. She took the call while waiting in the green room.
“He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women,” she told Mitchell, who received permission from the White House to discuss the exchange between Fluke and Obama. “What was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud. And that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. So I just appreciated that very much.”
